Volunteer - Coffee Shop, Take Notice, Happy and Healthy
I first found out about CLASP and met some members at the Wokingham Music Festival. After speaking as a Rotarian for a Take Notice session and being invited to the AGM, I decided to become a volunteer. A role that I'm thoroughly enjoying.
I am retired now but have had a varied life. This includes 25 years as a primary school teacher as well as ESL and GCSE tutoring, copywriting and a little bit of restaurant management thrown in along the way. I've had the privilege of living and working for over ten years in Malaga, Madrid and Lisbon before coming back to the UK in 2016. As well as my Rotary work, I have had many volunteering roles over the years including Home Start and sports coaching. I love watching and playing sport and am a regular at Places for Leisure in Wokingham.
My partner Jeff is a journalist and I have two adult children. Stuart has lived in Madrid for 20 years and works for Electronic Arts (a good excuse to visit several times a year) and Cass is a police sergeant. She lives in Bracknell with her 10-year old daughter Millie. I spend as much time with them as possible.
