Listen To Us is our training group which started in 2011 and was set up by people with learning disabilities to raise awareness of what it is like to have a learning disability.

In 2021, Listen To Us were awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for their training around learning disability awareness!

The group writes and delivers disability awareness training. They meet regularly to update their training materials, practice their scripts and develop new training courses.

Listen To Us uses games and real examples in the training and works hard to make sure it is professional, interesting and enjoyable. We currently offer the following training:

Our Values –

  • This is a 2 hour training course aimed at social care and NHS staff, support workers, public transport staff, etc. to raise awareness of what it's like to have a learning disability. The training focuses on Our Values – the things that are important to people with learning disabilities when being supported.
